I arrived back to the UK yesterday and got home today.
A couple of things to perhaps clarify about 'FAM' trips (familiarisation trips):
- They are incredibly busy, showing you a seemingly endless supply of fascinating sites and offering some of the most unique experiences possible.

- On my FAM trip, which travelled from the south of Denmark to the north and across to Norway, we would often check out of one hotel at 8am and not arrive at the next one until midnight.
Therefore, the last few days of the trip left little time to sit down with my laptop and create (what I deem to be) wonderful blog posts. I am also incredibly tired, struggling to keep my eyes open as I type.
Let me give you a very brief rundown of where we headed to after day two.

Let me give you a very brief rundown of where we headed to after day two.
From Aarhus we continued to Aalborg. This day was perhaps the busiest: three guided tours of museums, a beer tasting, a wine tasting, a rooftop bar and dinner in a magnificent castle. Despite experiencing some of the best excursions that the city offered, it was at times a little tricky to fully appreciate each one's merits.
The following day was much more relaxed. We were introduced to Skagen, an old fishing town which has struggled against the natural disruption caused by huge drifting sand dunes. While these dunes are now under control, sand stretched for miles and it is where most of the below photographs were taken.
Kristiansand and Arendal were the final two port cities to visit - both in Norway, and sharing the same paragraph because they were so close together. In both, colourful wooden buildings (some historic, others not) flank the waterways. We took a boat trip in Kristiansand, followed by a drink in a bar overlooking the city - as rally cars whizzed around the city (part of an organised stage). Arendal played up to its artificial connections with the Disney movie Frozen and wowed us with an interactive science museum.
My trip has been wonderful, but it's certainly time to catch up on sleep.
