Day Two

The second full day began with a coach ride from Fredericia to Aarhus. We arrived at Dokk 1, a newly constructed building on the waterfront, featuring a public library, a children's nursery and plenty of office space - all accompanied by the wonderful views offered by the waterfront. Following the canal we soon arrived at the city's cathedral, which the first two photos are of, before continuing to Moesgaard Museum. The interactive exhibitions offered an insight into the complete history of Denmark - displaying archaeology discovered from the Bronze Age through to Medieval period and beyond. I found the visit to be fascinating, however we were soon whisked away to the ARoS Modern Art Museum. Lunch was served and we had plenty of free time to explore the exhibitions at our own leisure.

Following lunch, the afternoon was spent in a rooftop bar - where the weather was a little too cold to fully appreciate our glass of white wine - two food markets and an open air museum.

Having left Fredericia at approximately 9am, we checked into our hotel in Aalborg at 10pm.

Day Three, Four, Five and Six

I arrived back to the UK yesterday and got home today. A couple of things to perhaps clarify about 'FAM' trips (familiarisation trips): - They are incredibly busy, showing you a seemingly endless supply of fascinating sites and offering some of the most unique experiences possible. - On my FAM trip, which travelled from the south of Denmark to the north and across to Norway, we would often check out of one hotel at 8am and not arrive at the next one until midnight. Therefore, the last few days of the trip left little time to sit down with my laptop and create (what I deem to be) wonderful blog posts. I am also incredibly tired, struggling to keep my eyes open as I type. Let me give you a very brief rundown of where we headed to after day two. From Aarhus we continued to Aalborg. Day One: Arrival and The Original Legoland

After briefly calling into the office to complete a couple of administrative tasks and enjoying a coffee with my lovely grandparents, my girlfriend, Bex, kindly drove me to the train station. It was a fairly easy journey into London and out across to Heathrow, arriving with plenty of spare time to listen to an audiobook - No Cunning Plan by Sir Tony Robinson. Sir Tony's mischievous tales about Time Team and  Blackadder made the time fly by and before I knew it, the time came to board the plane. As most flights do, it passed unspectacularly: there was the safety demonstration that our cabin crew had likely performed several times that day, brief nervous tension as the plane accelerated up the runway, then, seemingly a few moments later, we descended through the clouds and I caught my first glimpse of Denmark. Day One (Continued)

First and foremost, apologies for not updating more regularly on this trip. As it turns out, starting at 7am arriving back at 10pm leaves little time to write enjoyable blog posts. Nonetheless, let us persist. Waking up inside the Legoland park at Billund was surreal to say the least. The normal sounds such as birds chirping and aeroplanes taking off could be heart, however, when I drew back my curtains, I found my window to be directly above a miniature Danish city. Which one, I'm disappointed to say that I could not tell you. After a delicious Danish breakfast and the chance to reply to a couple of emails, it was time for an exclusive tour, before the gates opened. I snapped the first three shots below. We then travelled the short distance to Lego House, built next to the very first factory and celebrating the creativity that the brand offers.
